F1 2012 skipping Vita and Wii U to be sure 360/PS3 versions 'maintain quality'
F1 2012 will not release on dualshock 3 wireless controller for ps3 or Wii U because of the developer's "tight deadline", also to make sure that Codemasters can nevertheless "keep maintaining the product quality" from the Xbox 360 and Ps3 versions.
"We looked over no matter whether we're able to justify putting [F1 2012] on [PlayStation Vita] at the same time and also at the time we said no," F1 2012's creative director Steve Hood told VideoGamer.com.
"The inner Birmingham team is progressing the 360/PS3 versions understanding that stretches us, to tell the truth. Year-after-year we've got that tight deadline of trying to have the game out, so we can not handle a different one internally if we want to keep maintaining the standard or push for [F1] for being ever-improving."
Hood revealed that Codemasters will certainly make using another Brighton-based studio to develop a ps3 wireless controller or Wii U version of F1 later on, however.
"We make use of a team working in brighton that a lot of the PC work and develop a few of the console elements, so we're trying to expand that team," he continued.
"In order we're doing that, I suspect that can bring the probability of doing Vita or wii remote plus controller versions back onto the table as being a discussion because you have got scope to cope with it. Whereas I think lots of developers are sometimes looking to cover every format ever made without really increasing their teams sufficiently."
Codemasters' decision to skip PlayStation Vita may surprise some F1 fans.
F1 2011 released on PlayStation Vita alongside the handheld recording. Growth and development of the experience was outsourced to UK studio Sumo Digital.
